Changes in programming due to the November holidays this month! No story time on November 8 and 9. The library will be closed November 10-11 and 23-25 to observe Veterans Day and the Thanksgiving holidays. All after-school programs will be suspended November 20-22.

National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, takes place on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. in November.
What’s Cooking? Show and Tell on November 7 at 6 p.m. Churchill County Museum Director Mel Glover will have some interesting kitchen objects from the collection and discuss their purpose. Feel free to dig through your kitchen cabinets and bring your own interesting kitchen objects to discuss with those in attendance.
Drop-in 3D printing workshop takes place November 8 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Using the library’s 3D printer, make objects, both useful and pretty, and learn more about this popular technology.
Senator Rosen’s office representative at the library on November 9 for “office hours” at 1 p.m. Stop by and let the Senator’s staff know what your concerns are.
Reading with Rover takes place on November 9 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Children read books to dogs to improve their reading skills and confidence to a decidedly captive audience. Added bonus: our furry friends are great listeners!

Book discussion groups for adults continues on November 30 at 6 p.m.! The topic this month is “cozy reads,” and you are encouraged to bring your own cozy book to discuss.
Ongoing Programs
“1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read age-appropriate books before entering school. Book titles are suggested and offered by library staff. Recognition given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000! Sign-ups accepted at any time at: bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.
Tuesdays
Knitting Club meets at 10 a.m. on November 7, 21 and 28 and welcomes both novice and advanced knitters. They are willing to offer advice and tips and offer encouragement on your project.
Virtual Reality drop-in sessions take place from 3:15 to 5 p.m. on November 7, 14 and 28. All welcome to stop by!
Wednesdays
In-person children’s story time meets on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. except for November 8. Each week’s story time will feature the same content. Children’s Librarian Miss J reads picture books to children and offers a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.
Thursdays
Children’s story time is at 10 and 11 a.m. on November 2, 16 and 30 and Knitting Club meets again at 3 p.m. with the exception of November 23
Fridays
STEAM sessions with VR are on November 2 and 17 at 1:30 p.m.
Have a problem with your computer or smartphone? Head over the William N. Pennington Life Center on Fridays (except for November 10 and 24) from 10 to 11 a.m. and get answers from Technical Services Librarian Joe Salsman, an expert in all things technology!

Library hours of operation are Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays and major holidays.
