Court Information
Our goal is to serve all individuals impartially, honestly and with integrity. The Courts and its staff remain dedicated to functioning as a team in order to serve the public by protecting individual rights and to provide equal, fair and consistent access to justice for all who are in need of our services. We strive to perform these duties in an efficient and timely manner.
Judicial Duties
The justice of the peace is required to preside over a variety of cases, including:
- Formal Civil Suits
- Landlord/Tenant Hearings
- Small Claims Actions
- Temporary Restraining Orders
- Preliminary Examinations in Felony and Gross Misdemeanor Cases
- Trials for Misdemeanor Criminal Matters
- Trials for Traffic Violations
- Marriage Ceremonies
Payments and Dispute requests for Civil Infractions
To pay, dispute, or send requests regarding your civil infraction, please visit the new public portal.
Payments for Traffic Citations (Misdemeanors)
Depending on your violation, your citation might still be considered a misdemeanor offense. If that is the case, you can make payments online or you can make your payments over the phone or in person.
The court accepts the following forms of payment: cash, check, cashiers check, money order, debit/credit card. If it's after hours, there is a drop box located in the Sheriff's office lobby.
The Fallon Justice Court has partnered with a third party service provider, PayPal, to offer payments of certain fines/fees over the internet for the convenience of our citizens. Please be advised PayPal charges a fee for processing of payments.
Restraining Orders after hours
If it is after hours, you may obtain a restraining order application from law enforcement.

Looking to get married???
Call the court to schedule your appointment. The ceremony is $75.00, in cash only. Marriage Licenses and Certificates can be obtained at the Churchill County Clerk Treasurer's office, 155 N. Taylor Street, Suite 110 in Fallon.
Zoom
Attorneys and Defendants may appear via Zoom with prior permission from the court. Please call the court ahead of time to confirm the date and time of the hearing you would like to attend.
